I'm a Biden supporter who's open to Bernie but skeptical of him. Can his supporters help me.

I am a Biden supporter mostly because I think his a decent man running in a very indecent time, he’s more electable than Bernie(in my opinion) and I was a huge Obama Supporter who feels connected to Biden.  Last night I heard Rachael Maddow interviewing Bernie Sanders and found myself agreeing with a lot of what he was saying particularly on the issue of health care.  I also found him to be very persuasive which would be very valuable in a debate against Trump.

Here are my concerns, specifically as it relates to health care.  If we were a new country wanting to create a whole new health care system, I would say you’d have to be insane to implement the current healthcare system we have in place and a single payer system would be an infinitely better option.  The problem is, we have the system we have and completely overhauling it overnight or even in one term could cause major and potentially devastating disruptions in the short term to health care and would effect 10’s of millions of Americans who say they are happy with the current health insurance.  In addition, hundreds of thousands could potentially lose jobs and it could cause a major pull back in the stock market not to mention some of Bernie’s other proposals and before you say so what to that, consider this.  My father, a Bernie Supporter, is a retired New York City school teacher who retired 10 years ago.  His pension is directly tied to the stock market.  10 years ago he was taking in $4,500 from his pension and just getting by. Today he’s taking in close to $9,000 and along with his social security is living comfortably.  My dad might willing to sacrifice for the common goodand future generations but how many others would.  Tens of Millions of people’s retirement are tied to the stock market including millions of union members.  I know in the long run major structural reforms will greatly benefit our country but in the short run there will be pain which is going to disproportionately fall on the part.  How would democrats survive that politically, would a more incremental approach like a public option for now be better?

My second concern is how is Bernie going to pass this bill or any others.  Obama had 60 senators who were democrat or independent and he couldn’t get a public option through.  We know the Republicans won’t vote for it no matter how popular it is so that’s a non starter.  And here’s my main issue with Bernie.  He keeps attacking the Democratic Establishment and basically calling them corporate shrill’s but he’s going to need their votes, especially moderate senators like Joe Manchin to pass these major laws.  The one answer I didn’t like from Bernie last night was to the question of why didn’t he reach out to Jim Clyburn and ask for his support and his answer was something along the lines of “Me and Jim have different politics and he was never going to give me his support so I didn’t bother”  Jim Clyburn, whether you like him or not represents a major constituency within the Democratic party.  I don’t think he’s going to get anything passed if this is his attitude towards those he disagrees with inside the Democratic party.  I know some may point to what Trump did in his take over of the Republican party but the Republican party is very different than the Democratic party.  The Republican party is a monolithic group that’s much easier to control.  The Democratic party is made up a lot of different diverse diverse groups under one umbrella.  It take a lot more to bring the Democratic party together than the Republican party.

Anyway I welcome any replies to what I said because a very much agree with Bernie Sanders on the issues.
